Roll Out Notification - Letting others know about your company's website

So you have updated your website. It looks great and you have completed the first step in the process. What, you say, only the first step?

Marketing your business is an ongoing process that requires multiple steps to see the reasonable results you have hoped for. The first step, your updated website,  is completed. Where you go from that first step can determine whether others know about your site or if a great site becomes an under-performer. The difference can be made by Letting Others Know About Your Company’s Website, also known as Roll-Out Notification.

Roll-Out Notification is the process by which others are made aware of your website. People within the target market for your notifications include current clients, potential clients, and prospects that may use your business. Each customer should be targeted in a different way. You do not want to send out an indirect letter to a current client who does a lot of business with you. By that same logic, you don’t want to send out a “you’ve been working with us for years” e-mail to a prospect client who has never done business with your company.

Roll-Out Notification falls under two distinct categories – physical and virtual. Physical notification options include letters, postcards, or other mailers letting others know about your site. Virtual notifications can take the form of e-newsletters or e-mails sent out to key clients or potential clients. Both options provide you the opportunity to remind the person or business who you are, what you can do for them, and tell them about your updated site. You are sending your targeted customers information for a reason – your company has a new website. Sure you are promoting your business; however you have a real reason for sending the information out.

Reminding others of your business and showing them that your business is getting ready to grow, can add a layer of confidence to their business dealings with your company. “If you build it, they will come” may work in the movies, but in the real world you have to let your customers know that your business has something new to offer them – a new website. These communications can help to lay the groundwork for future materials to keep your customer base energized and informed.
